- We trace the ancestry of a single lineage (maternal or paternal) over the past 2000 years.
- We provide a present-day African country and ethnic group (tribe). We do not provide percentages of ancestry.
- Our reference database is at least 11x larger than any other ancestry company.
- We do not sell or share our customers’ DNA.

Are African results guaranteed?
There is no guarantee that your result will be African. Most African Americans have a mixture of African and European ancestry. Ninety-two percent (92%) of the people who take the maternal test receive an African result. There is an 8% chance that your result will not be African.
What is the refund policy?
African Ancestry does not refund any test after the swabs have been received at the lab.
